We value Open Source and make a point to release all our plugins on GitHub under a BSD License.

Install the plugin

  1. Download the latest plugin release from GitHub.

  2. Run the install.py script as root.

  3. Edit ~/.wakatime.cfg and add your apikey as follows:

    [settings] api_key = <your-api-key>

  4. Activate the plugin in Gedit from EditPreferencesPlugins.

  5. Use Gedit like you normally do, WakaTime will run in the background.

  6. Visit https://wakatime.com/dashboard to see your coding activity.
